How God Blesses You Is Up to Him
January 17th, 2012Here’s a question for you. Where do you store your treasure? Listen to what Jesus says.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven …. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21.

Storing treasures in heaven doesn’t mean you’re doomed to rags and dumpster-diving while on earth. It means investing in things that last — like your relationship with God; service to others; faith, hope and love.
God wants to bless you! Not because you are cute, American, poor, rich, Democrat or Republican. He wants to bless you simply because He loves you. How He blesses you, though, is up to Him.
If you insist on defining what blessings you want and putting all your heart into seeking them, then you’ll lose them! You’ll also miss the blessings God sends your way.
Remember, God gave His people the biggest blessing possible — eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. Why wouldn’t we trust Him for the little stuff?
Don’t put God in a box. Don’t limit Him. I challenge you to put your heart into looking for the ways God is blessing you right now, acknowledge them, and praise Him for them.

Thank you for your message on RockTV this evening. As you said, He wants us to be made in his image. But how do we return the favor?? By making the LORD in our own image. He does have a plan for each and every one of us and he knows our sorrows. It is on His time table, not ours. How God blesses us IS up to Him.
I have to admit that I have defined what blessings I thought I should recieve in the past. I believed that I was a good person and deserved more than what I had and at times I was even mad that I could not achieve what I believed I could attain.
I was currently unemployed for over four months, and just recently graduated from UCSD my savings are now literally gone. At first I could not understand my position.
About two months ago I found a job working minimum wage. It wasn’t easy going to work every morning at 5am, but something told me to keep going. About 2 weeks ago I got hired as a Loan processor for a mortgage company. I have recently left the minimum wage position and have started working for my new company full time and I will be eligible to recieve full benefits in about two months.
Now, everday I walk into work with the biggest smile on my face because I’ve realized that the voice that kept telling me to stick it through the rough times was God. Despite all my negativity, that I admit I did experience from time to time, and despite all the questions I asked God, he came through, but not until he saw it fit for me. And that is just the way it is.
Placing your faith and trust in God will not be easy for some people, including myself, but I am determined to do it for as long as He allows me to.
